In response to the popularity of our last Halim Drum Workshop, we are pleased to announce..
WHO: Standing Rock Cultural Arts
WHAT: Halim El-Dabh Drum Workshop-African Storytelling and History of Drum Culture-Basic Techniques of Hand Drumming WHEN:-Saturday: November 15, 2-4pm-Sunday: November 16, 2-4pm WHERE: North Water Street Gallery, 257 N. Water St., Kent FEE: $20 covers both classes. Attend one or both sessions.
SIGN-UP: 330-673-4970 MAXIMUM STUDENTS: 20-All levels of students welcome Goal: To enlighten students about the many musical and therapeutic possibilities associated with learning a few basic drum techniques. Objectives:-To provide a history of how drums are used in many cultures around the world.-To provide a basic understanding of the rhythm and techniques involved with playing a hand drum Materials: Please provide a drum if possible. We have a few extra percussion instruments.
