ANTS - photography and surveillance installation by Linda Smith is on display through this weekend at Brandt Gallery - 1028 Kenilworth, Cleveland, Ohio.
ANTS utilizes photos, video surveillance, an ant farm and film to take the viewer on a subtle journey, which begins with viewing enlarged photos of ants and the ant farm in plain view in the middle of the gallery. The juxtaposition of those elements with a surveillance camera that allows those watching the ants to be watched, as if ants themselves, by attendees viewing in the room directly off the main gallery. Voyeurs watching voyeurs.
